Glue-down carpet
Carpet bonded directly to the floor for basements and high-traffic areas. Here is how a glue-down job is done.

1. We measure and look at the subfloor
Glue-down goes straight onto the subfloor, so the subfloor is the job. We measure the rooms and check what we are bonding to.

2. The surface is prepared
The subfloor is cleaned and made sound and dry. Adhesive does not stick to dust, and it does not stick to damp.

3. Adhesive is spread with a notched trowel
The trowel leaves ridges of a set depth, which is what gives an even bond across the whole area instead of patches.

4. The carpet is laid into the adhesive
Carpet is set into the wet adhesive and rolled so the backing makes full contact and no air is trapped underneath.

5. Seams and edges are finished
Seams are cut and joined, and the carpet is trimmed at walls, doorways and any transition.

6. It is left to cure
The adhesive needs time before heavy traffic and furniture come back. We tell you how long for the room in question.
