Carpet
Carpet installed over new padding for bedrooms, living rooms and stairs. Here is how a carpet job goes, from the first measurement to the room handed back.

1. We measure the rooms
We take the room dimensions, work out where seams will have to fall, and check doorways, closets and stairs. The estimate is built on those measurements, not on a guess.

2. You choose the carpet and the padding
We bring samples so you can feel the difference between them. Padding matters as much as the carpet: it is what you feel underfoot and it is what makes the carpet last.

3. The old floor comes out
The old carpet and padding are lifted and hauled away. The subfloor is checked underneath, and loose boards or squeaks are dealt with before anything new goes down.

4. New padding goes down
Padding is cut to the room, fastened to the subfloor and butted tight so there are no ridges under the carpet.

5. The carpet is fitted
Carpet is rolled out, seams are placed where they show least, stretched onto the tack strip and trimmed at walls, doorways and stairs.

6. We leave the room ready
Off-cuts and packaging leave with us, and the room is vacuumed before we hand it back.
